      My Story

I am an Afro Caribbean Woman that resides in Munsee Lenape Territory what we know as New Jersey a few minutes outside of New York in the Northeastern part of United States. I was raised in a vibrant immigrant multigenerational family of immediate and extended relatives that migrated from the Twin Island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Canada and England.

"Perceptive, insightful, intuitive and empathetic” are some of the words my colleagues, clients and students use to describe my work with them. I have experience working with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, life altering events as well as crises. Throughout my career I have developed a speciality of therapeutic experience working with individuals and familes from the Caribbean, Asian and African diasporas. I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Psychotherapist for 19 years and a Certified Clinical Supervisor for 17 years working with individuals with a whole range of diverse presenting issues. I provide clinical supervision for supervisees that is grounded in the integration of decolonization, intersectionality, diversity, equity and inclusion. Presently, I provide supervision in the state of New York, New Jersey and Trinidad and Tobago

My formal training is in psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapy as well as eye movement desensitization reprocessing therapy(EMDR) yet I do have experience in various therapeutic approaches. My priority when working with clients, students and supervisees is to make sure that they know they are valued in our work together. Life can be difficult, joyful, rich, textured and full of challenges. Developing coping skills and cultivating strength in the areas of your life that need support is vital, and I am here to navigate all of those sacred spaces with them and you.
